Divorce and post-divorce counseling and therapy

These clients go through a very difficult period of their lives and counselors guide them to that all the participants gradually learn to cope with the (post)divorce situation and deal with it without unnecessary hurting each other or others. The aim of (post)divorce counseling and therapy is to alleviate the suffering of all of the members of the former family, especially the children, as it is based on the prerequisite that the marriage is no longer sustainable. Intervention concentrate on mitigation of losses, including the effects of long-lasting stress on mental and physical health. For the process and course of therapy, it is important in which phase the partners come to seek help and what outstanding problems they have.

Concrete assistance focuses on:

  • Learning to handle "emotional storms" and come to terms with one’s "emotional divorce"
(detachment of partners and distance from former spouse)

  • Separation of marital and parental roles (separation of marriage fro parenthood)

  • Finalization of family reconstruction – i.e., separation, post-divorce agreements,
personal development of each of the partners/spouses, including leading a full life thereafter (post- divorce outlooks)

MEDIATION – strategic steps are taken as part of (post) divorce extrajudicial mediation. The objective is to rearrange the family situation as constructively and functioning as possible during the (post)divorce process.
